Menswear: Suit + Tie Optional

Menswear: Coat + Tie Optional

Blazer // Button-up {similar} // Sunglasses {similar} // Tie // Belt // Oxfords // Denim

Boys, it's time to start dressing like men. Next time you want to dress up, let's add a few more pieces to create a more polished, pulled together look.  Let's start building off of your basic dark denim & classic button up.  From there, layer a light weight blazer & tie in the same color palette {or add some color if you are feeling a bit risky}. Don't forget to invest in a great pair of oxfords to complete the look!

A friend of mine asked me to put together a guy's outfit for summer.  In line with the trend of colored denim/khakis, I created this look around these amazing J.Crew muted green shorts and complimented them with a gray tee & neutral accessories.

His Style: Out with the Guys

When styling these menswear posts I usually show them to my boyfriend before posting, while he doesn't always agree with my idea of a great menswear outfit, this was a look he did approve of.  I asked where he would wear this, he told me work on Fridays or out with the guys. Don't be afraid to invest in a pair of nicer tennis shoes, they can easily be dressed up and down.

menswear: layering

layering

Most men I know have two types of shirts that take up the most closet space. T-shirts & button-ups.  If you are looking to shake things up a bit with your wardrobe, whether it be to work or for a night out, sweaters are a great option. Layering may not be for every man, but when done right, creates a classic, put-together look.  Start with a sweater, something in the same color palette (see here) or stick with something neutral.  Make sure the material is breathable and something you can move in, as layering often brings on the heat.  If you are feeling risky, move a bit further out of your comfort zone with leather boots and a blazer to complete your look!
