the row handbags

Earlier this week, Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen launched their line of handbags for The Row available for pre-order now at Barneys New York.  The line retails between $2,000 and $15,000.  The bags may run just a bit pricey for my pocket book, however; if I were to be making an investment in a timeless leather carryall, The Row Handbags is where I would go to find mine.  I am currently coveting the blue tote bag, second to the last of the handbags.

What do you think of their new handbag collection?

steal this look

This sums up my perfect outfit.  Take a loose fitting blouse, add a feminine lace skirt, and adorn your wrists with a few simple yet demanding bangles.

farmers' market

This past Saturday, I decided to forgo heading back to Iowa City and stay in Des Moines to enjoy some of the finer things Des Moines offers in the summer time.  My mom and I decided to brave the heat wave and head to the Downtown Farmers' Market.  We made sure to grab breakfast bowls from the Farm Boys Hearty Food Co. stand, hand-picked fresh flowers, and of course, purchase my favorite black raspberry sweet rolls.

my mind slips away...

Two weeks ago I spent a nine hours sitting in a car to make it to my own little paradise.  Every summer my family and I trek up to Northern Minnesota to White Eagle Resort.  Lake Vermilion calls our name and reminds us to turn off cell phones and stash away those computers.  Summer is about enjoying the gorgeous weather, great fishing, and quality family time, which for my family means game nights, wine on the rocks, rocking out around the campfire.

Here are a few snap shots I was able to capture before my phone died and was not seen again for 7 days...

threadsence

Before I left for vacation, I went a little overboard at threadsence.  I couldn't have been more excited to return home to two packages waiting at my doorstep.  Here's a sneak peak at my purchases, make sure you head over to their site and pick up a few of your favorites!

welcome back kotter

I have been meaning to post for days, which sadly, has turned into weeks.  In the past few months, I have successfully moved into my townhouse, went on my first program for work -- two weeks in Jamaica, which was a lot more work than one would think.  I also just spent the last week catching some rays at Lake Vermilion in Northern Minnesota on vacation.  Now that I'm home for a period of time, I can't wait to start putting together every room in my house.  As I start gathering some inspiration for posts this week, my boyfriend and I are discussing ways to decorate our place...and when I say we...I mean me.  C is currently cheering on Prince Fielder in the Home Run Derby.  This is what we call teamwork.

My goal is to find a vintage serving cart for the dining room area, a white corner bookshelf for the half bath, and rugs for the dining room & living room.  While I continue to search for the perfect pieces, here are a few ideas from Etsy that I can't wait to incorporate into my place!
