A Perfect Valentine's Day with Winter's Tale

Valentine's Day is soon approaching and my fiancĂ© and I usually prefer to keep our evening fairly low-key. We have been movie buffs for as long as I can remember, but rarely agree on the romantic movie. It helps that I'm usually for the action, mystery, or sci-fi flick, but I love when a particular film not only has every aspect of mystery and suspense for him, but also carries romance for me. I'm anxious to see Winter's Tale for this very reason.

With actors such as Colin Farrell (just saw him in Saving Mrs. Bank, he is so good), Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, and Jessica Brown Findlay, you have the makings of one fantastic film. Set in the early 1900s, we have the story of Peter Lake, a thief who falls in love with a dying women, Beverly Penn, after attempting to break into her home. Irish gangster Pearly Soames and old boss has a vendetta against him and continues to chase Peter in hopes of killing him. In the midst of his war with Pearly, and with Beverly's love, a love that lasts over lifetimes, Peter wakes up in modern day NYC, he can't remember his name, but he can remember her.  I can't wait to see what happens and every time I see the trailer on TV, I remind my fiancĂ© that this is what we need to see when the movie opens on Friday, February 14, Valentine's Day!

After getting our puppy, Lola,  I've become a serious homebody and the polar vortex temperatures aren't encouraging me to leave the house anytime soon unless it is for the essentials. So this Valentine's Day weekend I'm hoping we not only get to catch a showing of Winter's Tale, but also spend some time in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal, maybe hand-made pizzas, followed by a cozy night by the fire with Lola in tow. A game of scrabble, stove-top popcorn, and and a movie from the Golden Globes nominations of "Best Movies" that we both haven't seen to close out the weekend celebration.

Make sure to see all of my inspiration for Valentine's Day here. Let me know what you plan on doing this Valentine's Day, are you spending it with your significant other? Night out with the girls?

A Case of the Monday's

This past weekend was a bit of a whirlwind in the most unexpected ways. I spent all of Saturday attached to my laptop. I signed up for Blogshop Online and spent the day fine-tuning my photoshop skills and learning new (and much easier) tips and tricks. The above image was one of our practice images. I can't wait to put all of my new skills to use…stay tuned for a full review of Blogshop Online!

In the mean time, I am traveling for my day job this week to Las Vegas. Upon my return next Friday,  I have two exciting photo shoots lined up next weekend followed by another trip, this time to Savannah the following weekend to speak about social media {not for the day job}! And once I come home from that trip, I have a huge shoot for a freelance project. Whewwww.  Even just looking at the calendar makes me exhausted, so I merely giving fair warning for my radio silence over the next two weeks!

Darling | WWDMAGIC

Shop Darling

Last year I was introduced to a multitude of brands at WWDMAGIC. Of those brands, I fell in love with Darling, a London based brand {more specifically this white floral embellished dress}. Nadia Moraes, the designer behind Darling was inspired to launch her collection by the lack of affordable, beautiful and stylish clothing available.

Her designs combine an ultra feminine and vintage inspired touch with a quintessential "English" vibe. This brand identity is what put Darling on the map and the attention to detail and quality is what keeps it there. From the intricate laser cut details on the sleeves, to the leather trim pocks on these pants, it's what is in the details that sets Darling apart from other brands.

I can't wait to see what Darling has up its sleeve for their Fall/Winter 2014 Collection and I hope I get to find out this February at WWDMAGIC! I'm entering the contest again and would be so honored to be selected a second time to be apart of the amazefest that is the official blogger team at WWDMAGIC. I would only continue to grow in my career in fashion and social media and would love the opportunity to experience it again!

Shopping Cart: Uncommon Goods Jewelry

Happy Monday. As the record below temps prevent me from doing anything too productive, I've been spending my time scouring Uncommon Goods for my latest inspiration and jewelry finds. I've been on a bit of a shopping hiatus after the holidays and am scouting my next must-have accessory.

I'm loving this jewelry holder, not only does it quote one of my favorite poems, it's a perfect resting place for my engagement ring on a bed-side table and these earrings. The gold and diamond ring? An investment, but man, she's a beauty. It can even be considered an unconventional wedding ring. Would you wear it as such or a right hand ring? If simplicity is more your style, you can't go wrong with this  ring

My favorite pick may be the slim bangle that is engraved with the phrase "She Believed She Could" that I would pair with this arrow bracelet. This year I have some big dreams I'm hoping to accomplish and this would be a constant reminder that if I believe and if I work hard enough, I can make anything happen. Who wouldn't want that splendid reminder everyday?

Life: New Year's Eve

This year we rang in 2014 with a festive fete at Jenny's. We enjoyed an abundance of champagne and confetti and laughed ourselves silly with a game of Cards Against Humanity.

Here are a few snapshots from our night.

New Year's Resolutions

I tend to forgo resolutions by the end of January, often times I am too stuck in my ways to ever make any significant changes. I pinned this image a few days ago and couldn't help but agree with everything on the list.

This year will be one of changes, in five months time I will be a wife. After seven years, I cannot wait to make things official. In addition to the personal changes and a new last name that will be happening, I have a few lofty business goals that I hope to see through and it will take a lot of time and dedication to get where I want to be professionally, but I know I can do it.

In regards to health and fitness, I simply hope to start dancing again and taking time to do yoga during the week {ideally in the mornings after I take Lola out...getting up early is always a challenge}. I received this cookbook for Christmas and hope to cook my way through it this year.

So there you have it, do you make resolutions? If so, let me know what they are below!

Wishing you nothing but health and happiness in 2014!
