My Style: Portobello Road Fashion's Night Out

ASOS Sweater {sold out but similar} // F21 Skirt {similar} // Steve Madden Heels // Lia Sophia Necklace

This is what I wore to Portobello Road's Fashion Night Out. While only picking this outfit out about an hour before I arrived at the event, I loved how it turned out. I knew I wanted to wear leather and if you follow me on instagram you know I own quite a bit of faux fur (pants, shorts, two skirts, and now this top).  Knowing Katelyn was going to wear her faux leather pants, I knew I wanted to mix things up.

How are you wearing leather this fall?

Shop Talk: Aimée

After making the rounds at Market Day on Saturday, we ventured over to Aimée, a women's clothing, shoes, and accessories boutique located in the East Village in Downtown Des Moines. Aimée is home to the location of an event I'm hosting with Katelyn of Katalina Girl. This event will be take place in early November and will bring together the best & most stylish of Des Moines Fashion and Beauty blogging community! I can't wait to share more details with you in the weeks to come!

Aimée is the most charming lifestyle boutique with a little something for everyone! Find the latest trends to date, including a few of my favorite textures for fall: leather, sequins, and velvet!  The store is filled with over 60 different and unique lines from around the world. And maybe the best part? I think they love champagne as much as I do :)

Make sure to follow Aimée and visit their website!

Fashion's Night Out @ Portobello Road

On October 17th I will teaming up with Katelyn from Katalina Girl to host Fashion's Night out at Portobello Road, Ames, IA! I would love to see you all there! I will be there to offer up some styling advice and share with you my top picks from Portobello Road!

Portobello Road opened August 25th by an Iowa State University alum, to fill the need of a fresh new place for Iowa State University students to shop.  The boutique, located on Welch, offers womens and mens clothing, home decor and vintage!  In the store you will find salvaged barn wood floors and sliding bar doors that give an overall vintage and rustic vibe.

While most boutiques are overpriced, Portobello's prices are extremely reasonable.  The store merchandise mimics an Urban Outfitters mixed with an Anthropologie selection.  Overall I'm in love with the boutique and extremely excited about the event!

The event will include champagne, photography, and lots of great shopping {free gift with purchase of $20 or more}.  Everyone is invited to come shop, drink, spend time with friends and get their pictures taken in their favorite fall picks from the store.

a case of the tuesdays

This past weekend, temperatures spiked up to 87 degrees! Only in Iowa can it snow on a Tuesday and feel like summer by Sunday.  I cannot wait to pull out my floral print and bright colors dresses for the warm days ahead.
