My Style: Fourth of July

gifted Boat House Apparel Sandpiper Crop Tee | Converse | Rebecca Minkoff Bag

Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is enjoying the day off and spending it with your friends and family! We have a parade and a carnival to hit up followed by time at the pool! Thank goodness for a three day weekend, it is just what the doctor ordered. I'm typically on vacation at Lake Vermilion during the week of the 4th, celebrating on the water, but due to the honeymoon my PTO bank is seriously lacking. To help curb the sting of missing out on vacation, I threw on this new crop top from Boat House Apparel to bring me all the lake vibes I can get!

I've partnered up with Boat House Apparel to give you a chance to win this Echo Bay Wine Tote - how cute is this? You have until next Thursday to enter, winner will be announced next Friday!

Good luck and have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

My Style: I Love You, Wildfox

To date, this may be one of my favorite outfits. I picked up this sweatshirt and these shorts during a trip into town during our honeymoon. Upon laying eyes on both pieces, I had a 'have-to-have' moment. These shorts have a bit of a stretch to them, which is great when helps them be a bit more forgiving then my old cut-offs! And you're probably wondering why I'm wearing a sweatshirt at the beach, I wanted to see the ocean up-close-and-personal one last time before we left Laguna! While we get the same sunshine and heat, we definitely don't have that view in Iowa, so we had to soak it in as much as possible!

My Style: Color Block Jumpsuit

gifted Matilda Muse Jumpsuit & Necklace | Zara Heels | Target Purse

I like nothing better than wearing an outfit that feels so good you could sleep in it. This cotton jumpsuit that Matilda Muse sent me is lightweight and breathable, a perfect look for a cool summer night! On a completely irrelevant note, have you noticed all these freckles? Summer is in full force and even with a high SPF, they still tend to pop out...one of my favorite parts of summer...thought I wish I was seeing more sunshine then all of this rain! :)

My Style: Crop Top

Unknown Shirt & Bracelet (picked up from local boutique in LB) | Blank Denim Shorts | Tringl Bikini

We soaked up quite a bit of sun during our stay in Laguna Beach. When we weren't catching rays by the pool or on the beach, we meandered throughout the town. And like any respectable person, I chose to cover up a bit, I picked up both these shorts and top at a local boutique where I wanted just about everything in sight. I love this top and can't wait to wear it with a bright, lacy cami underneath for a nigh out or paired with a high waisted skirt or trousers!

My Style: Crochet Romper

gifted Swell Romper | Forever 21 Sandals | Kenda Kist Necklace

This romper might be the most worn item in my closet so far this summer. I've worn it during my honeymoon, the week of my wedding to get my nails done and set up our reception site, plus a handful of other times. Rompers are simply the easiest thing to reach for during summer. No fuss, no trying to mix and match, just easily thrown on and out the door you go! This one is a particular favorite because of my sucker for a good back detail, I'm usually a fan of backless numbers, but this detailing is to die for! For more amazing pieces, make sure to head over to Swell!

PS. Please forgive the awkward tippy toe pose, I'm not a fan but ended up strapped for awkward blog poses so I tried it out...and it made the publishing cut. I also steamed this romper...wasn't worth it, the moment you sit, it's wrinkled, but my love for it is still pretty endless.

My Style: Cut-Out Dress

I've said it before but versatility is key when I am looking to add a new piece to my wardrobe. This number from Swell is not only the perfect little summer dress, but can also double as a beach cover up! The cut-out on the sides of the dress add a bit of playfulness. It was a no brainer to pack for our honeymoon as we spent most it in our swimsuits, only needing cover-ups!

My Style: White Plum Giveaway

gifted White Plum Sweater & Shorts (Enter BRUNETTE20 for 20% off your entire purchase until 6/18) | Forever 21 Sandals | 31Bits Bracelet | Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody

Well, I'm a married woman with a new last name! My husband (feels so weird to say and type) and I are still feeling that honeymoon hangover and wish we could fly back to the beach this week. We returned last Saturday evening from a week spent soaking up the sunshine in Laguna Beach. I can't wait to share all the details for our big day (finally!) in the coming weeks but for now I'll share a few outfits from our honeymoon!

I wore this on the flight out to the OC. The sweater provided warmth from the chilly a/c ridden airplane, but provided some breathability once we touched down and ventured to al fresco lunch at The Rooftop. The cotton shorts were provided such comfort on the plane, and felt like I was wearing pajama shorts! While I typically travel in maxi dresses during the summer, I would say this combo may be my new go-to!

White Plum is offering my readers a discount and if that's not enough, enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a $50 store credit to WPB! Enter BRUNETTE20 for 20% off your entire purchase until 6/18.

My Style: Athleta Fashion

With  17+ years of dance experience from ballet and tap, to hip hop & jazz, I was at a loss at what to do once I graduated college and took my last dance class. A year or two after graduation I took a beginning adult ballet class just to get back in a studio and ended up teaching the class the following year. I was never one for a gym, often choosing yoga and group classes over weights and a treadmill.

Over the past few months I let fitness take the back burner as I became busier with my job, side jobs, and wedding planning. This past weekend Lifetime Fitness opened their doors and I've already taken multiple classes (I'm so sore, but that's the best feeling!). I'm excited to make fitness more of a focus in my life. Whether it's taking Lola for long walks or hitting up Yoga in the Park with my girlfriends, just getting off the couch and getting active is all that matters!

Thanks to Athleta Fashion, not only can you find cute pieces that you can wear to the gym but also in your everyday life. If I'm at home, you can typically find me in yoga pants and a tank, my at-home uniform if you will. I love that these pieces can be worn in every aspect of my life. So even if your hair is thrown up in a messy knot and your covered in sweat, you know that you still look stylish - especially when everyone is more focused on your outrageous printed leggings! :)

My Style: Colorblock Jacket

When the forecast calls for rain and you have every intention of taking outfit pictures, fashion bloggers have no choice than to get creative. As you can see here, I had to shoot inside my very messy home, though you cannot see the mess in these pictures. Had I flipped the camera around to every other corner of my house you would see wedding DIY projects in mid-creation, wedding gifts that have arrived in the mail but have yet to be put away, and even a suitcase I haven't unpacked. It's all about being real here people, especially when your pup demands your attention and could care less you that you are trying to look decent in a picture.

These days I have seen my style change more towards minimalistic and simple, I am turning into a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. This rainy day called for outerwear that offered a bit of warmth when the forecast called for 60s and it was really only in the 40s. This leather sleeved jacket is perfect for these finicky spring days!

See how the all the co-founders of Midwest Bloggers styled their Easy Pickins piece here!
