Life: Lake Vermilion

A few snap shots of my vacation last week up north to Lake Vermilion & White Eagle Resort! We made our annual stop at Gordy's Hi-Hat, cooled off with ice cream at Moosebird's {my new favorite flavor, Pirate Booty}, and took in the gorgeous scenery. 

What can I say, Lake Vermilion is my happy place.

Well, Monday, we meet again. After spending nine glorious days in Northern Minnesota at Lake Vermilion, I can say without a doubt that I would much rather be there than heading back to the office this morning. I spent the entire week soaking up the sun, the waves, catching a fish or two, and finally caught up on my reading list. This was the first 'real outfit' I wore the entire week, as my wardrobe consisted mainly of swimsuits during the day and sweatpants in the evenings!

For our third wedding of the summer, I decided to try my luck with Rent the Runway. I had some credit from a previous order and ordered two different dresses. I ordered a Trina Turk sequin number from the Mangum Gold collection but it turned out to be a bit heavy for a humid and 90+ degree day, but this Allison Parris number couldn't have been a better option. The dresses arrived by 2pm on Friday evening, enough time for me to try on all three dresses (I ordered the dress I'm wearing in two sizes) and decide which was to be the best option! I loved the fullness of the skirt and the ban.do hair piece completed the look. I had worn it to another wedding last week but knew it had to make another appearance! This brings our wedding season to a close, and now brings a month of vacations, the Color Run, and a quick trip to Chicago for twelve's Yacht Party. Why is summer moving so fast?!
