I'm just never one to admit it or wish for it, unless it's Christmas Eve or it can get me out of work {which let's be real, would never happen}. So instead, it's best to plan for the worst. So why not look your best when scraping your car windows...shoveling...or while you practice your fanciest spins as you skate across the parking lot.

My co-worker approached me about what to wear for her upcoming family photos. She noted that she had picked up a pair of mustard cords for her little boy but didn't quite know how to complete everyone else's look. I suggested pairing the cords with a striped navy top.  From there, pull in the blue tones into her and her husband's outfits. This offers three casual looks for the family but when paired together compliments one another.

PS. If you didn't know, today is Election Day! I had the chance to see the President of the United States, the First Lady, and Bruce Springsteen last night in my hometown for one last campaign rally. It is an evening I will remember forever and still gives me chills when I think about it. So, get out there and vote! Use your voice, exercise your right!

 On a crisp fall morning there's nothing I love more than sipping on a warm cup of apple cider and taking in the fall views of bright colors and the leaves changing and falling.  I cannot imagine a better way to spend an October Saturday or Sunday with no plan in sight than to hit up my local pumpkin patch with my boyfriend. The patch to be followed up, of course, with a pumpkin spice latte, a viewing of Hocus Pocus, and carving that perfect pumpkin.  The perfect outfit for such an outing? Why a cozy sweater, boyfriend jeans & boots, of course. 

Reader Question: Wedding Attire

A few days ago Sarah reached out to me and asked me to help style her for an upcoming wedding she is attending. She sent me a photo of this gorgeous yellow dress with a bit of lace detailing.  I suggested bright accessories with a funky, bold necklace or bright colored heels {she picked up a fun pair from TJ Maxx}.  Still deciding what to wear, she posted her top two options on her blog, Notes from Sarah Lagen.  Some feedback suggested that she shouldn't pick the LWD because it is the bride's day to wear white {which I agree - but how gorgeous is Sarah's dress - the cut of the back of the dress is amazing!!} - so she is leaning towards the yellow dress.
