Your Life, Styled: New Year's Eve

NYE Options

Well, it's time to toast to 2013 and welcome 2014 with open arms. 2013 just might have been my best year yet... I've been planning our wedding, turned 25,  chopped my hair for the first time in years, formed an LLC, represented Wallis at NYFW and was featured on The Huffington Post, represented TBO at WWDMAGIC, started freelance writing and styling, took a promotion at my day job, and this past Christmas we rescued Lola. And that was just naming the big things, whewww. Let's just say that I couldn't be more thankful for those in my life who continue to love and support this passion of mine and keep me sane during this wedding planning process.  I've been counting my blessings and can only imagine that 2014 will bring a whole new set of adventures, starting with our biggest one yet. Our wedding! We are officially 5 months out as of today, so let the countdown begin to 5.31.14!

To ring in the new year, I will be headed to Jenny's with a few others. I plan on wearing one of the three looks above, tell me, what is your favorite? I'm sure it will be a last minute, split second decision. What are you doing this New Year's? Staying in? Painting the town red? Let me know!

Your Life, Styled: Weekend Shopping

your life, styled
Shop the Look:
A trip to Kansas City isn't complete without a stop at the Plaza. While I tend to stay away from shops that I can find in Des Monies and frequent local shops such as Standard Style or see if there are any diamonds in the rough at H&M or American Apparel, I found myself wandering into J.Crew.  I thank the shopping Gods that pushed me into the store because it was 40% off all sale items. The lovely sales associate helping me out was wearing a version of the look above, color me obsessed. What a perfect fall look that translates from the office to the weekend.

Your Life, Styled: Summer Neutrals

Summer Transition
In keeping with Mother Nature's fickle behavior patterns, I've been finding myself in a transition of sorts. A floral printed short topped off with a slouchy knit to battle the dropping temps and air conditioned buildings. You can find me in something similar tomorrow as Katelyn, Emily, Jenny and I make our way down to Kansas City for Go Blog Social!

Your Life, Styled: Charity Yacht Party

Cody and I are headed east this weekend. The twelve '#getontheboat' yacht party is finally here! I can't wait to reunite with my sorority sisters and toast to a great cause! It's not too late, if you are in the Chicago area on Saturday night and looking for a great event - get your tickets here!

The co-founder of twelve will be wearing a RTR piece, and so will I! I rented this beautiful Elizabeth & James number, the Purple Bardot dress. It's simple & chic and just needs a statement necklace to top it off!

Cheers to the weekend!

Your Life, Styled: The Printed Blouse

Since I started styling with Keaton Row, I have seen client after client come to me with the same dilemma. They have no problem finding great statement pieces but have no clue how to style these items once they get them home to their closets. So first up, the printed blouse. To remix what you may have hanging in your closest, pair this blouse over a flowy dress and add a pair of wedges. If you aren't in a dress mood, pair with these white skinny jeans & heeled sandals, or pair with these Topshop silk trousers & heels

Your Life, Styled: A Rainy Day in May

Weekend Wear: Rainy Day in May

On Friday, I posted my laundry list of to-dos on Facebook. Did I make it through everything...not quite. Saturday, I wore a version of the outfit above {rainy/dreary/snow melting weather} to lunch with my family & had every intention of spending the day at Starbucks crossing things off my list. However, we had such great conversation at lunch we moved the party to my parent's house for another three hours. If you ask me, family always comes first, so sometimes I have to remind myself that there is always tomorrow to get to work on those deadlines!

Your Life, Styled: The Rehearsal Dinner

On Wednesday we traveled up to Minneapolis to get a head start on my brother's wedding festivities taking place on Saturday. Yesterday, it started to do this rain/sleet and eventually snow mix which threw a bit of a wrench into travel plans, however; safely, slowly, and surely guests have started to arrive by planes, trains, and automobiles. We will spending the afternoon getting pampered with manicures and pedicures and tonight we have their rehearsal & dinner to follow. While I didn't quite pack for the weather, I most definitely packed for the events. This dress happened to fall into my hands when I went to get my watch resized, as did a sweater to match. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself, right?

Hoping everyone survives this crazy weather sweeping the midwest, and here's hoping to not writing about the weather next week.

Your Life, Styled: Step into Spring with Wallis

In honor of my participation in the Wallis Fashion U.S. Blogger Ambassador challenge {you can vote once a day until April 9}, I've put together two different looks that I'm itching to try for spring. Here is my take on the printed trend for spring. A classic, feminine pairing with this printed dress & blush accessories {just received these flats c/o Wallis - such a closet staple} vs. an edgier vibe with a leather jacket and white & metallic heels.  I can't wait to invest in those white heels. What can I say, I have a mild shoe addiction?!

Which look is more your style?

Your Life, Styled: Tips to Master Dress Season

I pinned this image last night and couldn't help but take to heart Gap's styling notes for Spring! Remixing with a trusted chambray top, adding a brightly colored belt and a denim vest over a shirtdress, and throwing on a straw hat to combat any potential bad hair days. So many beautiful pieces for spring! I would also pick up this, this, and this. And have you seen these leather sneaks - a must, don't you agree?

You can also find me here today. Happy Friday!

PS. Voting started this week for Wallis' search for their first US Blogger Ambassador, if you could cast your vote here to help me win a chance of a lifetime -- I would be forever grateful!

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and whether or not you have plans with your loved one or your best girl friends, there's no shame in dressing up for this holiday. So indulge with a *sweet* Valentine's day inspired ice cream bowl & heart shaped spoon and dress up your trusted iPhone, to celebrate the holiday! The fiancĂ© and I will be keeping things low key and ordering in pizza & settling in for a movie night. Do you have big plans?!

Your Life, Styled: Holiday Tartan

This tartan city mini made my wish list this year. Holiday perfection all wrapped up in a beautiful skirt. If you are planning on wearing a fun statement piece this season {whether it be top, skirt, or pant}, keep everything else minimal to let that item shine!

Your Life, Styled: Everyday Chic

In a perfect world, I would wear some variation of this outfit everyday to the office. Coated jeans, a cozy knit {for less}, and the most perfect leather boots {ahem, Santa...}.
